The Bourtree is one of very few investments made in Hawick in recent times when the town has been so obviously marginalised by the bias towards the development of Galashiels and Central Borders. It is an attractive, accessible, affordable and popular venue that draws custom from locals and visitors to the town.

I think their would be a lot of disappointment for ppl in hawick if it were to close down, everytime I'm in its busy.

Best pub in borders a facility to be proud of. Friendly spacious and well supported by all generations.
My cousin regularly goes into your place,
Saturday nights start there for me - it would be a shame to see it close.
Seems a shame to sell off one of the nicest Wetherdpoons.
