The school board just announced that our principal is staying. I am honestly stunned by this turn of events and know this belongs entirely to the community that showed up. Please keep staying involved so we can continue to support her work in the future.
We have a competent and dedicated leader who has proven her ability to lead both students and teachers. Sign this petition to keep her in her rightful place.
Seeing 500 names here is completely overwhelming because I honestly just started this out of frustration. This growth is entirely because of the community rallying together and I am just lucky to be witnessing it.

I am honestly overwhelmed by how many people have stepped up to support our principal. This momentum belongs entirely to the community members who refused to stay quiet.

I am honestly overwhelmed by how many of you stepped up for our principal. If we can reach five hundred signatures before I meet with the board I know they will have to pay attention to what you all have accomplished.

Ms. Herring adapted and led LCA during two unexpected changes within months of one another.
(An effective leader during the pandemic when NO ONE was sure how to proceed, should be enough to warrant Ms. Herring's retention at Lincoln.)

As a former LCA educator, I support keeping Ms. Herring as the Principal. She was a great AP and I considered her a mentor during my time at the school. Her ability to lead and build relationships with students, families and staff served as an example for our school community.

Nebritt Herring has earned the principal position at Lincoln many times over with her dedication and work ethic. The interview process should have been a formality not a stressful note of finality. She deserves better. She should be able to continue what she's started.

I have worked with Ms. Herring for over 34 years going back to the day’s when she began her career with MPS as a paraprofessional at Bell Middle School. Ms. Herring has always been a tireless advocate for students, families, and staff. Do the right thing and leave her in place as the principal of LCA.

I’m afraid the whole VILS program will fail without Ms. Herring. This is total disrespect and bad for our students. She is the best administrator I’ve ever worked for, with a clear vision for kids and dedication not seen by many.

Stop moving principals from school to school! What better way to have consistency for students and have the same, strong administration for a student’s entire time at a school. Here is one of those many things other schools do that MPS could too - When something works, keep it instead of moving it!
