ATTENTION FARR WEST CITIZENS!

Summary: The Farr West Planning Commission is currently approving the development of a neighborhood directly north of Farr West Meadows, which will extend 2575 West to 3300 N. (North Plain City Road). It's currently mapped out as a direct and fairly straight road, but we are proposing that this be redesigned so that it's not as convenient for outsiders to use as a direct route.

Concern: Farr West Meadows is next to Walquist Jr. High and Farr West Elementary and all of the neighborhood children walk to and from schools during peak traffic hours. The concern is that the Remuda traffic (including Fremont students) will use Farr West Meadows as their route to 2700 North, instead of North Plain City Road and 2000 West. Allowing outside traffic to flow through 2575 West drastically increases the risks of a child being hit. Additional stop signs are necessary but are NOT an adequate deterrent to cars using it as a through street.

Solution: Please reduce these risks by either creating a separate route into the new subdivision or adding more turns on 2575 West before connecting it with 3300 North. Designing more turns on the connecting road will reduce speeding and traffic flow from outsiders. Of course, we are open to other suggestions as well.

Thank you!
