The university has officially reversed their decision and the Concurrent Education Program will remain in Brantford. It is heartening to see how the collective dedication of 473 people preserved this vital opportunity for our community. We must now remain attentive to ensure the program receives the support it needs to …
Nipissing University's Schulich School of Education has recently sent out an email notifying students that they are ending their partnership with Wilfrid Laurier University, thus discontinuing Brantford's Concurrent Education Program.
By signing this petition, you are in full support of continuing the growth of Nipissing's Schulich School of Education in Brantford, Ontario.
It is unfair to the city of Brantford for Nipissing to leave on such short notice after the city has put so much money into the university. It is unfair to Laurier since one of the largest programs on that campus will have to be scrapped or heavily reworked due to a need for both universities to be present. It is unfair to the students, current and future.

With so few quality Concurrent Education programs available in Southern Ontario, Nipissing leaving Brantford is a great disservice to both aspiring teachers and Brantford residents alike.

Besides the academic value these students have brought a tremendous spirit of community engagement and volunteerism. What a huge asset to Brantford.

I attended Laurier Brantford for my undergrad and masters. It's great having education students learning alongside you and contributes to the interdisciplinary nature of the campus. Student teachers also make a big impact on local schools.

I graduated in 2013 from the Con Ed program and couldn't imagine Brantford without both universities. As students we've always supported the university and it almost feels like Nipissing is turning their backs on us.

I am a third year Concurrent Education Teacher Candidate and I chose Laurier Brantford because of their name in helping numerous people like myself become great and inspirational teachers. It does not feel right that they will not be doing this in the future.

I went to here...and as it says on the walls of the public library "Brantford became my thinking place." It's truly a shame to see this campus close down. The Brantford campus is a fantastic program and I wish Nipissing North Bay stopped seeing the Brantford campus as the ugly step child. It's a fantastic program, with great students, super staff, and incredible professors.
