The district just confirmed that the program is staying at Oster. I honestly never imagined we would see this result and it is entirely because of your belief in this school community. We got exactly what we fought for and I am just so incredibly grateful to everyone who helped …

The DHOH program is in danger of being moved out of Oster Elementary School! Please show your support for keeping this unique program at Oster by signing the petition. Everyone is encouraged to sign. It will be sent to the Union School District board members and superintendent as well as the Santa Clara County Office of Education board members and superintendent.

I just looked at the count and saw we hit five hundred signatures. This is entirely because of the community choosing to step up for these kids when the program needed help most.

I logged on this morning to see 100 signatures and I am honestly stunned. This really shows how much this school means to all of you and I am just happy to be a part of it.

I am honestly overwhelmed by how many people have joined this effort to keep the program at Oster. If we could reach a hundred people before tonight it would really show the district how much this truly matters to us. Please send the link to a few people who might want to help preserve this space.

My daughter is not a student of the DHOH program, but she did attend Oster and often spoke of how she felt good about her school because of the inclusion and participation of the DHOH students in the classroom. KEEP DHOH at Oster, it benefits not only the DHOH students!

Please keep DHOH at Oster. There is such a history and connection. I volunteered and substitute taught at Oster with students in DHOH in mainstream classes. It is a great way for the DHOH to be part of the school community and not feel closed off.

I worked in Union District for 12 years...My son went to Oster and absolutely benefited from having DHOH program kids included...actually grew up with a couple of the kids and all through high school. Moving this program would be a huge mistake....when something works this well, it should be left alone!

I am Hard of Hearing and I attended this Deaf program at Oster when I was a little kid. This is one of the best programs in the Bay Area. And they have excellent community who support all Deaf children succeed academically. It is very important we keep this program for the future of newer generations to come.

Having worked at the Oster site as a Union School District employee for the past 10 years, I have seen first hand how much the students, staff, and community from both the USD and COE programs at Oster benefit from having the D/HOH programs on site.

As a former teacher at Oster School in the Hearing Impaired Program I am lending my support to keeping the program at Oster. The program has a wonderful reputation for providing an excellent education to the students. Please do not disrupt this wonderful program.
