Scott Slayton has the deepest passion for the game and the players he coaches. He does not deserve to be fired based upon his last several seasons. Instead he deserves to be reinstated because of the impact he has had on the basketball program, the community and on students of the game of ALL ages. It's clear that this community wants Scott Slayton as head coach!
I've had some dreams and one of those dreams was having coach slayton as my coach and going to the basketball districts and then maybe make it to states and from that moment I've always wanted to play basketball and now I am, so give coach slayton his job back.
Give coach his job back because it's not all about a win lose ratio and if he does go most of the basketball team probably won't come back and the new rookie that has the job will have an even worse win lose ratio
As a Red Land alumni, I am disgusted with the fact that Mr.Slayton was dismissed. What are you trying to teach the kids? I am so disappointed that the image being portrayed is that "winning is of most importance". Mr.Slayton taught more than the game, he taught life skills and pushed kids to their limits.
this is a wonderful man right here. A fantastic coach and teacher. I don't understand why I'm writing this or why "keeping him" is an option. It's not all abot the wins. It's about relationships building and leadership skills. This is the man for that job. I think he's proved himself by now!
keep coach slayton.... hes the best you will get both in class and on the court
i saw Scott both in the classroom and on the court. You could not ask for a better role model for students!

Coach Slayton hand wrote a letter to each and every kid that attended his basketball camps. the personal touch showed my son that this man cares about the kids as well as the future of Red Land Basketball. those of you who are choosing to vote him out. ask yourself 1 question. Would you step up and fulfill the time and commitments to the kids and community that Coach Slayton has been doing for years?
