PLEASE NOTE: NO DONATION IS NECESSARY!

Please sign this petition to let the Village of Glencoe know you want to keep our new Italian restaurant Cibo Trattoria open in Glencoe!

To date, because of complications to obtain a liquor license under the current Glencoe Village code, the restaurant partners chose to withdraw their application because they were led to believe they would not be granted approval by the Village of Glencoe. The Village also recently ordered the restaurant to cease and desist BYOB as the Village has a policy that strictly prohibits it. Since then, the restaurant's business has dropped significantly, making it impossible to continue keep its doors open. Given this environment, the restaurant has no choice but to close THIS SATURDAY.

Cibo opened roughly a month ago by Glencoe business owner, Rick Raschillo, who also owns MVP Fitness, along with partners and Glencoe residents Tim Cribb and Steve Santiccioli. Additionally the restaurant was impeccably decorated by a Glencoe resident. All involved have strong ties to the residents of Glencoe and were willing to invest further in the community by opening Cibo. Since opening, Cibo has become a welcome addition to our community, providing exceptional food and a beautiful, fun place to dine with friends and family as well as connect to the community. Furthermore, Cibo has received rave reviews throughout the media.

Cibo brought new life to the Village among many shuttered businesses and service businesses such as dry cleaners and banks. The restaurant enhanced the appeal of the Village and gave residents something to be proud of.

The Village's management team's decision to deny Cibo BYOB rights does not represent the opinions of its residents, and moreover, it's out of touch with what the residents want in our own town.

Please sign this petition by THIS THURSDAY, 7/23, at 3PM to let the Village of Glencoe know you want BYOB rights granted to Cibo, and ideally a liquor license. This isn't about the alcohol. This is about enhancing our Village with a respectable and delicious place to dine, while providing us with a beautiful space to connect to our community.

Glencoe, PLEASE don't shoot yourself in the foot AGAIN! People notice that we are unable to sustain businesses in our downtown! I think it is far, far better to allow a few alcoholic beverages to be served then to walk by yet another empty storefront!

Restaurant and catering facilities are critical to the social lives of residents and to attracting people to the new theatre. Not issuing a liquor license to a restaurant is like forcing a car to be sold with the hand brake on all time. This doesn't make sense.

Vernon's, Deweys, now this. Are we just going to let all of these restaurants go out of business? Cibo DESERVES a liquor license as it will only provide good for the Village of Glencoe and its patrons. Let's not let a third restaurant go. Give the people what they want Glencoe.

It is time for the Village to have some ownership in retail in Glencoe. Opting in for expansion of the Writers Theater and the influx of non residents will require more services, alimentation and libations. The residents, officials, and the Village need to embrace change.

I have dined at Cibo twice since it has opened. The food is excellent and the decor is outstanding. Why our elected officials won't support a local business in allowing them to provide a great dining experience is absurd.

Cibo is a wonderful addition to Glencoe. Most people prefer a cocktail with their dinner . We feel this should be consideration for board. We already had two restaurants that serve Liquor . Why should Cibo not be granted the same consideration?

We are so happy with our new restaurant in town and hope they can stay here. We are hoping they get their liquor license so they can stay.
