We are so happy with our new restaurant in town and hope they can stay here. We are hoping they get their liquor license so they can stay.

With the new Writer's Theatre ready to open, does the Glencoe Village Board want patrons to dine in Winnetka or Highland Park prior to performances? Glencoe needs restaurants! Expedite the liquor license please!

No restaurant can survive today without a liquor license let alone a BYOB policy this is ridiculous and village has to understand that they are condoning the failure of a restaurant and all the ramifications for the village of Glencoe which will not be good. The vitality of the entire Glenco business district has been harmed Now there is one less reason to go to Glencoe. This can't be good for business

We love this resturant. The food is amazing and decor is beautiful. The resturant attracts such a nice group of people in Glencoe. It would be such a loss if they closed.

Growing/improving the Village downtown infrastructure will make Glencoe all the more desirable as a home for residents or a destination for visitors

A reply from Cibo Trattoria above states: The application was submitted with full disclosure and there was nothing left out or hidden on our part. There was no misleading on our behalf and we were upfront from the start. Thank you

The village did say they were considering BYOB from the beginning and Cibo's application was outside the consideration. But, according to the Tribune, the village president does think an establishment can control how much a patron drinks and will not grant BYOB in Glencoe.

I notice that the nature of the charges were not disclosed. That may change people's minds about this.

Love the place, their food and owners. Hopefully they will get the liquor license issue sorted out soon to everyone's satisfaction. Glencoe needs them.

Everyone should wait until the next public meeting so they can get the information firsthand. That meeting date will be posted I'm sure and will certainly be on the Village website. Many people are commenting on this story but only two parties know all the facts: Village of Glencoe and the Cibo partners. Posting online no longer seems to be effective because some people don't clearly read statements and write angry rants based on their own misunderstanding. Or some think they have more information than they actually do. Conjecture is not helpful. What matters is both parties have been upfront with each other and they know that. A resident started this petition and people rallied behind it. Cibo partners acted professionally in following the process from the beginning and were upfront with the VOG. The Village was also professional in their communication and conduct with Cibo and made discussions with the partners a priority. Cibo Partners and the Village of Glencoe have been very respectful of each other and the process and there is no reason to believe that won't continue. Everyone will get to hear the facts at the next public meeting and until then, accusatory posts serve no beneficial purpose. Let's now take a deep breath and enjoy the wonderful weather that is finally upon us.

It's concerning that the full story wasn't immediately stated, although it was clear that the entire story wasn't being told. Although, the Village of Glencoe has the right and responsibility to make decisions that they feel are best for the Village, it isn't stated if the felony would be a show stopper in neighboring communities. Did the applicant's other restaurants include being granted a liquor license by a different community? Does each community or the state set the liquor license requirements? For the BYOB, did the Village state that they were going to consider BYOB rights? It seems that this situation got very far along with a significant issue on the table and now reactionary measures to solve the issue are being taken and all of the blame is being directed at the Village.

If Glencoe cannot support more dining options, it will slowly lose out to the city as younger generations prefer walkable amenities. The village needs to expand liqour licenses, including BYOB options, if necessary.

The community is building a magnificent Writers Theater. People want to dine out when they go to the theater. Cibo is not only a wonderful addition but a necessity, as well. The village is also long overdue expanding its restaurant options . Don't lose a great opportunity right in front of your eyes.

The liquor license should be granted. This same type of decision closed my father's bowling alley in northern Minnesota in the 1960s and made no sense then, nor does it now for Cibo.
