As an Eagle Scout and current Boy Scout leader I do not agree with BSA adding girls to the organization. Boy Scouts is for the boys and will always be no matter what. Instead of wasting time changing BOY scouts why don't you improve Girl Scouts? Please take this time to sign the petition and persuade BSA to not let girls join anymore. There are so many risks that will follow this decision. Before it is too late let's all act NOW and keep BOY SCOUTS the way Baden Powell founded it in 1910.

I just looked at the screen and saw 250 names which is honestly wild because I really just started this out of pure frustration in my living room one night. It makes me think about all those scout meetings I went to as a kid and how it really felt like a specific place for us to grow up together.

I keep thinking about the original intent of the program and why the structure mattered so much to so many of us growing up. My inbox is flooded with similar concerns from other leaders who feel just as ignored by the higher ups as I do right now. It feels like they are forgetting where they came from entirely while we are just sitting here trying to preserve the basics.

The issue is important to me. I have been an Eagle scout for my whole life. It is something Im supposed to be proud of but I feel embarrassed to have that now that the boy scouts are accepting girls.
I am an Eagle Scout with several palms earned in the 50's. I so no benefit to Scouting to having girls in the program. If girls want an advanced or more challenging program then the Girl Scouts should be in a position to provide it.
My concern is the continuing erosion of traditional programs for boys just because they do not include girls or other groups within our society. Why is it OK for girls to have a girls-only organization but not OK for boys to be exclusive?
I want to give back to the program but I can’t when I don’t support the decisions they’re making. Boy Scouts is to shape young men and they cheapened their beliefs and sold out their values with this.
As an Eagle Scout I must say I am greatly disappointed with this decision. Instead of keeping our core values and traditions at heart, you turned your back on the boys for money.... well I can tell you I will be stopping my contributions to both NESA and the BSA.
Stop trying to please everyone, we are watering down all the achievements every man and boy has done for the past 100= years, and men and boys no longer act like men...
No matter how other parents spin it, boys are different than girls and they both need their own place to grow and learn. Keep the BOY!!

The founder of this organization made scouts for boys, because of the scouts he lost in battle. Women already have another organization like the boy scouts: the girl scouts. Rather than join boy scouts, have them reform the girl scouts
