Sean you sound like a hypocrite. You really need to look at what girls have had to do to be treated as equals. Boys think girls are “weak” and “aren’t capable of the strain that men can handle” Hmm, what did you guys forget, CHILDBIRTH! You men are lucky you don’t have to go through 9 months of pain. I’ve never been pregnant so yes I’m lucky too but honestly, how the heck would you feel if you were disrespected just because you were a girl?

Thank you Martin for siding with the girls on this one. I actually view this petition as breaking the scout law. A scout is kind to everyone regardless of gender? I see no kindness in this petition at all. Girl Scouts is boring and not fun at all, it’s just a version of a school that turns girls into “proper ladies” and I hated it. So let girls in because it’s 2020 and not the 1900s!

As a scout in Scouts bsa AND a girl, I feel upset that this is an example of boys breaking the scout law. A scout is kind to everyone, regardless of gender? Ha. I see no kindness to girls here. Girl Scouts isn’t going to change, and men always think girls and women are nothing but weak. Are you afraid that girls will damage Scouts? Girls actually have made it better. So I hope that someday people will realize it’s not 1907 anymore it’s 2020 and gender equality is here, so please stop slandering the girls who like Scouts BSA

Kailey, you do realize that some girls are not your stereotypical “girly girl” some girls like Scouts bsa and maybe to them, Girl Scouts sucks. I know this because I used to be a Girl Scout, and also it’s pretty boring, there’s never really anything to do, when your a brownie/junior you don’t do anything fun!

I am a girl, and one who loves Scouts BSA. I see no problem with girls in Boy Scouts, as Girl Scouts is boring and I really feel like it should change. Who says girls can’t do what boys can do? Girls have had to fight hard to get the same rights as the boys. Tomboys win medals, Tomboys can do the same things boys can do, and the most important fact, Tomboys aren’t boys! So stop it with your sexist ways and accept that girls shouldn’t be stereotyped as “weak, dumb, cute, and pretty, and can’t do any work.” How would you boys feel if you were treated like a piece of glass that could break at any moment? Scouts are supposed to treat others fairly. Yet this petition is a example of the issues girls face by boys.

I am an Eagle Scout and the father of four boys. Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts are essential developmental leadership programs that work because they’re an opportunity for boys to develop in a uniquely emotionally safe environment. As a physician and father I can say with some authority that it is inappropriate to expect the same rewarding results if you mix boys and girls of these age groups together during this critical childhood and adalescent development. If the point is to allow additional opportunities for girls then this initiative should be a Girl Scouts initiative and they should improve their program to include some of the benefits available in Boy Scouts that are being perceived as not being available in Girl Scouts. Please do not destroy a very important program for boys. There are plenty of opportunities for coed scouting in the later years as evidenced by the explorer program.
