This petition is respectfully submitted to the National
Advancement Committee of the Boy Scouts of America to bring to their attention to
a concern from the Membership.
WE, the Volunteers, Members, Families and Friends of the
Cub Scouting Movement, as affirmed by our signatures on the opposing pages of
this petition, direct the National Advancement Committee to Re-Instate /
Continue Usage of the Belt Loop Advancement program for the betterment of all
scouting.
It is the feeling of the Membership at large the
elimination of the “Belt Loop Advancement Program” has NOT been made in the
best interest of the Member-Volunteers of the Cub Scouting organization;
specifically, but not limited to; Parents, Guardians, Leaders, former Leaders
and the Cub Scouts themselves.
It is our hope the Personnel at the National level will
understand the need for the Belt Loop program to not be removed from the
advancement programs of the Cub Scouts as these Belt Loops allow and encourage
the Cub Scouts to explore new hobbies and develop new skills.
In addition, the belt loops themselves allow an
opportunity for the Cub Scouts to display their accomplishments and
experiences, and is a direct source of Pride in the accomplishments.
My son has enjoyed earning a variety of belt loops during his last four years in Cub Scouts... two more to go & he will have earned 30! Please do not discontinue this wonderful opportunity for our boys to set & achieve belt loop goals & proudly display them with their uniforms! Thanks! :-)
