This is a petition to show the IABA what a huge mistake they are making by not renewing Billy Walsh's contract and letting him leave to go to the US. The top people in the IABA need to understand that without Billy and Zaur we won't be winning medals, like we did when they where in charge. IABA get real. Billy Walsh and Zaur Antia have totally transformed Irish boxing. Instead of possibly letting them go to another country you should be doing EVERYTHING in your power to get them to stay. That starts with offering them new contracts which reflect their incredible achievements.
Everyone knows Billy Walsh treats the Irish boxers like they’re family. Whether they’re actually family or not. To lose Walsh would be a devastating blow for Ireland, The reason the Americans have come in is because they recognise how good he is.
To treat a man who has given so much to the sport even before we competed at the highest level, when no one else wanted to the job is a utter disgrace, rarely do you find a coach that is more interested in the boxer than what they as a coach can achieve.
I strongly object to the IABA not renewing Billy and Zaurs contracts its disgraceful they are the reason Irish Amateur boxing is where it is today you should be keeping quality coaches like them in the Country instead of letting them go. Rio won.t be the same without them. Give them respect where respect is due!
Can't believe you are letting such a talented person leave. Surely it's bad enough our sons & daughters have to leave for jobs abroad to gain experience and hopefully return home but when a man whose success is proven leaves, we are surely doing something wrong

Billy has done so much for this country in a couple of years turning the team from 160th in the world to coming 2nd on the medal stages at the European championships! He will be a great loss and hopefully Ye get the sense and keep him on!
