A motion to close the junction at Oakdale Park/Beechdale Avenue is OPPOSED.
We, the undersigned, do not support this idea for the following reasons:-
1. Lack of access to LIDL and Stocking Lane for local residents that live on the other side of Beechdale Ave.
2. Emergency services may require access via this junction
3. There are schools planned on the zoned land on Oldcourt Rd - closing this road will effectively block off a quick route to here.
4. As there is NO bus route along the Oldcourt Rd, this route is depended upon by many parents to drop their kids to the 15 bus terminus.
To support this, there has been no increased traffic since the new Lidl Ballycullen was built therefore no perceived need to close this road off.
