we got the email and 90 wellesley is officially staying open through the break. i am honestly so relieved we wont be stuck without practice space over the holidays. thanks for sticking with this until they finally said yes.

Final supporters
As you may know, the University closes down all of the Faculty of Music buildings over the winter break. This is hugely inconvenient for students who can't practice at home and those without pianos. We are expected to be ready for many classes, rehearsals, lessons, concerts, masterclasses, recitals, and the undergrad concerto competition immediately when we return to school in January. However, under the current circumstances students are unable to adequately prepare for their responsibilities.
This simple petition asks that the 90 Wellesley St West building be left accessible over the holiday season.

I use this facility to practice everyday as I am not able to practise at home. Please keep this facility over the Holidays. It's fob entry anyway so people do not need to worry about vandalism or maintenance over the holiday season.
I am a piano performance major and I am from out of town - therefore I have no place to practice piano during the break. Please keep the Wellsley building open. Thank you
As a drummer, finding practice space is damn near impossible. Please keep our beloved 90 Wellesley open for practicing and rehearsals!!
Music students pay to use the facilities, and for those that don't go home over the holidays, there is often nowhere else to practice. With UofT's huge budget (and with the very small amount of money that it would take to keep this building open), there is no reason that the Faculty of Music should close for two weeks over the holidays.
If grad auditions are in february I can't lost a month of practicing just because i rent an apartment downtown to be near school and work.!
How else will I jam right out with all my realest homies???

For someone who lives in Toronto but doesn't have a grand piano, it would be very convenient for Wellesley to stay open during the winter break in order to practice on the pianos. Also, I planned on having group practice sessions during the winter because they would not be as full, and the break is convenient because we are all not in school during the day.
