Hi, I'm Katie Poehlman, a first-year IWU psychology major with a potential Hispanic studies minor. I am especially interested in sustainability psychology and improving the environment. It is important to me that students have a clean, safe, and enjoyable learning community! If elected as one of your student senators, I would take up these interests as an opportunity to bring new ideas to our Sustainability Awareness Committee.
I have been in student leadership positions before, giving me the skills to advocate and be a voice for those who need it.
- 2-year Varsity Softball Captain
- National Honor Society
- Captain of Mock Trial Team
- Student Council
With these opportunities, I learned many useful skills like communication, planning/organization, resilience, and problem-solving. These assets are crucial for being a successful student leader. As a student senator, I would work for you and share your concerns in order to help create the IWU environment you'd want to see!
