The local licensing authority has formally reversed the decision and reinstated our original operating hours. We are currently finalizing the new safety protocols to ensure compliance moving forward. I will be monitoring the upcoming shift changes to confirm the transition remains successful.

Final supporters
Due to recent incidents involving aggression from customers and the public the police have decided to trial closing the club at 3am and has declared Kartel unsafe.
We find this ludicrous due the very limited incidents that occur and the high level of safety promoted within the venue.
We need your help. We need the police to understand the public opinion on Kartel, and that is is loved by most and has provided night after night of safe, fun entertainment, 364 days a year.
Folks, if you are in agreement, and have enjoyed the party Kartel has provided then sign the petition and get friends to do the same. Peace out.

Legal counsel is currently reviewing the police reports cited in the license trial to identify discrepancies in their safety claims. I have formally requested a meeting with the licensing committee to present our evidence regarding the venue security protocols. We will continue to document all correspondence with local authorities.

its like everyone is saying, its a place where many people feel safe and enjoy coming to to socialise, have fun and listen to good music. why because of a few people do the rest have to suffer. if this happens then in my opinion, it will be the WRONG decision.

There are much greater issues than Kartel that need to be focused up! I have felt welcome, and extremely safe in here. Put that in comparison with a large amount of places on a certain street in Norwich. I feel Kartel are now being picked on due to it's past under old owners.
Don't know what i'd do on a night out if i didn't have this place to come to to see all the lovely friendly faces! Although i'm not out much anymore, i'd be disappointed knowing other people can't enjoy it as much as i used to!
this is getting to far norwich's night life is dieing out very quickly due to the police shutting venues down and saying theyre going to revoke liceneses from venues we havent been able to get a venue to hold a party fpr months due to this norfolk constabulary sort it out
If they think that shutting Kartel early will decrease the violence in Norwich, they are sadly mistaken. Bottlenecking Norwich's nightlife into one street is a very quick way of exacerbating the situation down Prince of Wales Road. We all go to Kartel because we DON'T want to be on Prince of Wales Road past 3am. It's a dive and all we want to do is enjoy great music alongside fellow music lovers. Plus the bouncers and bar staff are alert, polite, and professional.
i spent so many nights there .great place to end a night

It seems to me that the closing time isn't the real issue. Norwich city council along with norfolk police seem to think that keeping all club goers on one street in Norwich us the answer. Clearly they don't have the first clue about what makes a safe night out.
