A 100-level Microbiology student of the University of Benin (UNIBEN), Uwaila Omozuwa has been confirmed dead after being raped and beaten inside her local church.
The 22-year-old student who goes to read everyday at The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Edo Province 10, Ikpoba Hill, Benin, was attacked with a fire extinguisher by unknown men on Wednesday, May 27.
A family source said Uwaila died on Saturday midnight at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) where she was rushed to after the attack.
The continuous victimization of the female as a result of Rape or any form of violence must stop.... Efforts must be made by Government at all level to continuously protect our Sisters, female's and women out there...
It is hard time that all responsible men wake up and start defending the women no matter who is involved...
Today I am not calling on Government or Security Agencies to bring Justice for Uwa I Challenge Government and All necessary security Agencies to bring Justice for this Innocent soul, her soul shall Torment all who has hand in this wicked act and all Leaders and Government until justice is served.
