The city of Mcfarland wants to condemn and take over the
property at 107 Kern Ave in Mcfarland where my father’s tire shop has been
in existence for over 20 years. The city wants to replace it with a city
parking lot and is only offering my father an unfair monetary market value. My
father wants to cooperate with the city but is asking for a fair amount.
Mcfarland is a small town and does not have a scarcity of parking. The city is
justifying their actions by stating that the city would benefit more from a
parking lot. My father’s business is a symbol of hard work and a dream come
true, the city benefits more from a thriving business. His business has been
drawing people and business into the city, a parking lot will not. Please sign
here if you would like to support Mcfarland Tire Service to remain where it
stands or be fairly compensated for possibly closing it’s doors as the city
desires.

I am honestly overwhelmed by how many of you have stopped to support my father. We are nearing the first hundred signatures and it really shows that this shop means as much to the town as it does to our family. If you can help us reach that mark by sending this link to a few people today then we might actually get someone in the office to pay attention.

They should offer the owner a fair amount. All of a sudden they need a parking space because of the Rite Aid that's going to open across the street. The city should of thought of a different location for the rite aid. It's very unfair.
I personally know how much sweat, tears and heart this man has put into this business!! This is the land of opportunity and he worked hard for that for his and his family his hard work should be of value to the city that he has helped the economy for many years!!
Hard work, love, family values, and a man's dream should not be taken away from him for a parking lot!!! Find an open field that isn't occupied to build a parking lot. We stand strong for small town values and fairness to Mr. Ballesteros
Many of times has this man helped me out EARLY in the morning; One of the few businesses opened to help early risers, it would be a loss to us all:( I hope the city of Mc Farland gives this business man what he deserves!
The money being compensated is so unfair. No one should be unvoluntarily forced to relocate or close their business to fulfill the city's needs. There is plenty of unoccupied land to create more parking spaces.

I am sure the city can find another spot to build a parkinglot and not cause another business in California to shut down. This is a perfect example why so many companies are taking their business and jobs to other states.
