As we mourn the heartbreaking and preventable loss of Marisol Fuentes, we must also face a difficult truth: this tragedy was made possible by a failure in our justice system.
When Magistrate Stephanie Johnson set Michael Gleeson’s bail at only $5,000, despite clear warning signs, she put a price on Marisol’s life and compromised the safety of our entire community. This decision allowed a dangerous individual to walk free, leading directly to Marisol’s death.
We believe our community and our state deserve better. We need a justice system that truly protects the vulnerable and holds decision-makers accountable. For these reasons, we call for the resignation of Magistrate Stephanie Johnson and for the legislators to take a deep dive into our court system.
Let us come together to honor Marisol’s memory and insist on the vigilance, responsibility, and accountability that every member of our community deserves.

This should never be allowed to happen...more protection needs to be given to victims of domestic violence! Low cash bail or a piece of paper (restraining order) does nothing to prevent OR protect...how many more have to die before the justice system changes?
Stop allowing violent people stalkers and domestic violence perpetrators walk free to kill. There is no justice when victims are dead who would still be with us if not for a broken legal system that gives preference to violent criminals.
Echoing the voices of hundreds if not thousands of folks that are mourning this loss and agree that SUFFICIENT ACTION WAS NOT TAKEN TO PREVENT THIS TRAGEDY. The suspect paid a mere $5000 for the freedom to commit murder of a beautiful soul. This cannot be allowed to happen again.
My best friend was also murdered by her husband who then took his own life 7 years ago. Unbelieveable that with the circumstances presented, that this man was given bail! Someone should be held accountable for allowing this!!
Due to the recent murder of Marisol Fuentes and the past stabbing of another victim, the people were released and went on to cause more harm that should have never happened with this I call for the immediate removal of the Magistrate that allowed theses suspects bail

She was more then a person she became my friend. She felt safe around me and confided in me. I can never hug her again or tell her how beautiful she is. How she made the best mudslide for me and talked with me. She will be missed and remembered in me.
