Lobby for a new law to be passed to prosecute Owners for dog on dog attacks.

Dog on dog attacks are becoming more and more of a problem yet Owners are not being prosecuted due to no law being present in the UK.
Yet again this week another report of a dog being attacked by out of control dogs who freely roamed and not under control by their owners..sadly this one lost its life.
Time and time again we hear reports of this happening and now it seems on a daily basis..Dog Wardens unable to enforce dogs being kept on leads in public places by Owners,some where many children are present as well as other dog walkers...
If a human is hurt or maimed or killed then the law comes into effect under the Dangerous Dogs Act and the offending dog(s) may be destroyed...if any dog attacks another dog you stand no chance,unless you pay for a private procecution,plus those offending dogs are still free to roam with irresponsible owners getting away with it..
To see the distress and anger when this happens is unbelievable,a dog may be a pet but its part of someones family. Everyone should be entitled to spend time within a public place with their dogs in a safe and secure environment..but it's not happening..
It needs to change..now!
Please sign this petition as we are lobbying this to be debated in Parliment..without it more dogs will needlessly be hurt..maimed or killed without a control law...

Both my gsd have been attacked while they were on there leads but diffrent staffie dogs now if i see one i have to move as my dogs now think they have to get this dog befor it gets them shouldent be like this plz make the law change ....
It's long passed time that the owners of out if control dogs who attack, maim or kill other dogs in an unprovoked attack were subject to the full force of the law. It's high time these incidents were made a criminal offence with severe penalties including prison sentences for the owners.
I complained to Gateshead Council about there policy of dogs not on leads in Saltwell Park! Signs everywhere saying dogs Must be on leads but everyday there were dogs with owners running free and running up and barking and snapping at my puppy! Was told they can't enforce owners to put dogs on leads
This needs serious attention. Owners can be prosecuted if their dog attacks sheep or wildlife but not domestic pets. It’s an anomaly and dogs causing this damage are more a danger to the public as they frequent popular walking area and public parks.
The law must change! Witnessing your dog beint attackt leaves one mentally scared. Just because theres is no visible physical injury, doesnt mean there none. Mental injury is just as bad as physical!
No dogs should be free to run wild unless they respond to orders from their owners. No dog is dangerous but every dog is capable of being dangerous. Owners have to be held responsible for their dogs behaviour in public and punished accordingly
Its about time owners are accountable for such attacks or it will just keep happening. Its about time we were more like the USA with this sort of thing!!!!!!!

This has to be made law. My dog has been attacked in the war memorial park by a mastiff type dog & suffered puncture wounds. The young lad didn’t even have a lead for his dog. This has to change and now.
