Liam Stacey was the internet troll who got 56 days in prison for racial comments on twitter. This petition is not because we think what Liam did was right , but because Liam has been so unfairly punished compared to other high profile cases. Luis Suarez, a premiership footballer, considered to be a role model to young children across the globe was found guilty of racial abuse towards Patrice Evra in person yet he only got a fine and banned for 8 matches, yet Liam types something online and gets a prison sentence. Doesn't seem fair to me. John Terry is another premiership footballer who was England Football team captain when he again, made vile racist comments towards Anton Ferdinand. Although he hasn't been found guilty yet, the case has been conveniently been put back until the beginning of July so he can play for England in European Championship's. Liam's case was dealt within 10 days. Or how about the four Muslim girls who racially abused and attacked a girl in Leicester. They were kicking the girl in the head and wanted her to die. Yet a judge felt that because they were not used to drink, they should be given another chance. This is the case which highlights how unfairly Liam has been treated. Liam makes a few racial comments on the internet not meaning to hurt anyone. Yet these girls can racially abuse and assault someone and get a suspended sentence. Seems to me like they make different laws for different people. Hopefully, with the appeal and the weight behind this petition if we can get enough signatures, then we can get justice for Liam for being so unfairly treated, and also shut the likes of Alun Sugar and Piers Morgan who felt they could call Liam a coward from behind a PC, seems these two are also cowards as they wouldn't say it in person. Justice For Liam.
