Capone's Story...Please sign and share so justice may be served...
MILWAUKEE - Heartbreak over the death of an innocent little puppy. He was brutally beaten, and now his owner wants to know who could do such a thing.
"Yea, he was very much part of my family. He was as close to me as pretty much one of my kids."
Which is why Samantha Ballman is heartbroken.
Someone beat and cut her one year old pitbull puppy, Capone, so badly, he bled to death. His wounds so horrific, we can't show you most of them.
"I thought he was going to be a big old white faced dog by the time he died. I didn't think he'd be a puppy," Ballman said in tears.
It happened near 35th and Lapham late Thursday night. Capone had been at Samantha's friends house for a few days. The friend says Capone was in the fenced in back yard. When they checked on him, he was gone.
"They noticed the gate was open and they went and saw in the front yard that he was out there but two guys were over him just beating him, over again."
Ballman said her dogsitters tried to chase after the guys but they ran away.
She rushed over to the home and brought Capone to the vet. They were going to do surgery on his leg, but before they could, he died. The vet told Samantha Capone had severe internal bleeding.
Bloody paw prints led to the neighbor's door step, where Capone likely tried to seek shelter.
One of the kids that lived there told us he heard a dog yelping during the night.
"I heard a dog yelling for help, like really howling, like really bad. So I looked through the window but I didn't see anything.
Eduardo Leon and his parents had no idea the awful scene outside their front door, until we showed them the area covered in blood.
"Oh my God."
When we showed Eduardo's father, Antonio photos of the injured dog, he couldn't believe it.
"People that do that. That's dangerous people you know."
Samantha's friends said they didn't get a good description of the alleged men who beat her dog.
And with no known suspects, she has a message for other dog owners.
"Don't take your eyes off your dogs - even if its for a second - cause that second they could be taken away from you."
Samantha feels like her dog may have been targeted because of its breed.
She tells us Capone was a submissive, sweet dog that would never hurt anyone.
"How could someone take a dog out of a yard and just beat him for no reason? He wasn't a dog that would ever even bite."
Samantha filed a police report Friday. She's hoping the people responsible will slip up, telling someone what they did and she begs anyone with information to come forward.
I am honestly overwhelmed by the way so many people have reached out to support Capone. This momentum belongs entirely to those of you who decided that his story deserved to be told.

RIP sweet Capone. I hope so much that all this awful animal cruelty will end. We live in such a cruel world and no living being deserves to be treated like you were. I hope you are in a better place and surrounded by love xx

Find who did this. Absolute trash human beings. Poor Capone literally dragged himself to a neighbor for help. My heart just breaks for the owners.

This makes me sick to my stomach. How could anyone do this to a poor puppy. Those monsters need to be found and locked up. RIP little guy.
