Being 'Politically Correct" means "Safety First" for our families. Pitt Meadows Council members need to make dangerous dog- breed owners accountable... at ALL times...on and off their own property. They should be forced to have their animals insured with a liability of ? $ million just like fast cars.

I live in Pitt Meadows and also lost a small dog to a larger one in Hoffman Park a few years back. This has to stop will see you Tuesday. I also know John from our football club. Deepest sympathies. Brian

This just goes to show that not everyone should own a large dog breed. They take time to be trained, disciplined and instructed. One should not own a dog if they cannot control that dog. Also, dogs and cats are not "chattels" and this law should also be changed in the future.

Our little Teddi is a visitor dog at Ridge Meadows too. On our rounds there this week there was much heartache over the loss of Buttons. I can't even imagine how devastating this loss is to John and Yvonne.

The by law needs to be enforced and the penalty for noncompliance should reflect this very serious issue that cost the life of such a sweet little Therapy Dog who gave nothing but love to everyone who met her.

RIP Buttons. Aggressive dogs - regardless of breed need have owners that understand how to manage them. Obviously that didn't happen here. Bad owners and Buttons paid the ultimate price. <3

Condemn the irresponsible (big or little) dog owners to a life working in a shelter. Some people shouldn't have an animal. Sincere Sympathy to you

We don't need to protect dangerous dogs with uncapable owners. It's time to do better for citizens. Nobody needs to own a dangerous dog in this day and age. We need safety for people, not large, vicious and potentially violent dogs anywhere in Canada.
