The board officially voted to drop the community center proposal and explore the school district option instead. I am truly stunned by the outcome. This only happened because you refused to accept the original plan.

To: Board of Directors Homeowners Association (HOA)
We say “No” to the HOA Board promoting a community center which will deplete cash reserves, place Johnson Ranch in debt, and increase HOA fees by over 20 percent. We demand the Board concentrate on community upgrades that can be handled within existing financial resources.
We demand the Board consider the Florence Unified School District (FUSD) Community Center option. This option includes a “private JR facility” and the real likelihood of a “fitness facility” and “multi-sports field with lights for adults and minor sports”. Outdoor sports and a fitness center were the #1 rated need in the HOA survey, but are not included in the HOA center proposal. (Provision of a multi-sports facility will mean the youth of Johnson Ranch will no longer have to travel to Anthem for safe and playable fields for soccer, baseball, flag football, and softball).
The FUSD proposal will offer amenities and programs unsustainable in a standalone HOA facility, including a commercial kitchen, and will cost less than 1/10th of the cost of the HOA proposal. Examination of this alternative in detail is a requirement of Arizona State Law as it relates to “due diligence” and “Fiduciary responsibilities”.
We further demand the Board ask a clear and direct question regarding the HOA proposal rather than a vague question relating to a “change of land use at Twilight Park”.

Don't take away from the YMCA and the community involvement in our schools! We need more community, not a community center that will isolate Johnson Ranch from the rest of the San Tan Valley
Why is the BOD so dead set against the FUSD proposal? It seems to me we could have dedicated tennis and pickleball courts if we took the FUSD proposal.
The community center plan does not appear to be well vetted. Many in Johnson Ranch are retirees who snowbird. We do not need additional HOA fees for the community center proposal as submitted by the Board.
Current fees and taxes are already in need of a reality check. I definitely oppose this unnecessary expenditure.
As a smart business decision, how can one not look at other possibilities like FUSD Community Center option. That makes total business sense to me.
Please no Community Center and increased costs

I just moved in to this community and can’t believe the drama. I believed the $65 a month HOA is plenty to keep up with maintenance and improvements. The streets are always full of litter and I am always picking it up because I take pride in my new purchase. I understand the “Community Center” is a cover to upgrade the offices for the Board Members and staff. I say NO !
