We Need Our Playground! Complete Jefferson Park
In March 2011, the Hoboken City Council unanimously approved and the Mayor signed an ordinance appropriating $1.6 million and bonding a further $1.52 million to improve several parks throughout the city, including the remediation and the purchase and installation of new playground equipment for Jefferson Park, located at 123 Jefferson Street, adjacent to the Boys & Girls Club and HoLa, Hoboken Dual Language Charter School. The old playground equipment and pavement of Jefferson Park were removed this summer and environmental remediation completed. But now, there is only an empty sand lot, broken gate and fencing. The children of the Boys & Girls Club, HoLa, and the surrounding neighborhoods sorely need the installation of new playground equipment on Jefferson Park to be completed! We gratefully thank the Mayor and City Council for funding of Jefferson Park. We now respectfully and urgently call on you to see to it that the installation of the new playground equipment at Jefferson Park is completed this fall.
