Hello everyone!!

My name is Jazmine Goode, and I'm currently a 1L. My goal is to become your next SBA 2023-2024 Treasurer. As the current 1L Class representative, I've attended all SBA meetings and events and proudly represented the 1L class.

While attending SBA meetings, I've already used my voice to effect change by requesting that the Board of Governors and organizations have access to the entire SBA budget and funds. In bringing this to the e-board, we now have access to the budget at each meeting.

I've discussed and reviewed the role of a treasurer and conversed with the current SBA treasurer about her challenges and viewpoints for the future, and I'm confident I can excel in this position.

I have previously served as treasurer in my undergraduate studies.While at Ferris State University I served as treasurer and President of You Beautiful Black Woman one of the largest non Greek student organization on it's campus. I've also been on the fundraising committee for my sorority Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. where I helped sell tickets for major events and fundraised for scholarships for Metro Detroit high school seniors. While in law school, I have been heavily active with the Black Law Student Association. In preparation for BLSA's biggest event, I created and will be hosting a fundraising event to help fund the organization's minority scholarship this Friday.

If elected your next SBA treasurer, I will continue to not only support my class but make sure that any student apart of UDM knows the plans for SBA funds, create fundraising events and collaborations for our organizations to get the funds they hope for, bring more speakers, and send more organizations out into the legal field to proudly represent Detroit Mercy Law and bring back valuable information to those here at the university.
