Hello all! I’m Jasmyn Pearson and I hoping to secure your vote for 1L Class Vice President. I am passionate about contributing to our campus community and the surrounding area in a meaningful way.

I feel my experience as Vice President for my sorority, executive board of Circle K International which is a service organization, and a Student Senator at Grand Valley has prepared me to serve you. While serving as Vice President I was in charge of recruiting members, organizing community service events such as a volunteering at a girls group home and doing a river clean up, I leading chapter meetings, and attending workshops to develop my skills as a leader.

In my position as an executive board member of Circle K International, I was responsible for organizing service events, collaborating with other Circle K chapters, and participating in service opportunities. As a Student Senator I served as a voice for all of the student body. I coordinated different events involving Black History Month and Women’s Month, as well as giving feedback to administrators about student well-being on campus. Not only has my experiences shaped me for this role, I am dedicated to serving our community.

If elected 1L class Vice President I intend to be a listening ear for you. As a 1L, we are in a unique position to create a culture of respect, vulnerability, and passion. We all come from vastly different backgrounds and we all have a variety of talents. As Class Vice President I will ensure that each one of us feels respected, heard, and valued. I have and always will operate from a place of transparency and accountability.

I am confident that I am the right person to stand up for our class and make sure we have what we need to succeed in law school. We’re all in this together!
