I am trying to get a law passed (Jaycie's Law)starting in South Carolina and hopefully going nationwide or even worldwidefor mandatory drug testing in Emergency Rooms forDOCUMENTED drug addicts before prescribing drugs, such as pain pills (narcotics)that could compromise their lives. The pain pill prescriptionproblem that we know exist has been declared an epidemic. Since we have alreadystarted a Prescription Drug Monitoring Program here in SC and many other states....We needtopass a law in the ER for mandatory drug testingfor documented drug addicts to go along with this PDMP. This law is specific and not intended for people with chronic pain that need these types of medications for quality life. With the PDMP being used and bringing education into our schools and Jaycie's Law, I feel it would be the start of helping put a stop to this deadly epidemic that we have here in the United States and all over the world. Enough is enough. We need this simple request to become a law so we as humans can help stop this epidemic that is growing rapidly.

I have been involved with several prison ministries and meet countless numbers of in-mates who become addicted to narcotics because they are so easy to keep getting. This is a serious problem.

This simple request would save many lives, primarily among our lovely children.

I knew Jaycie personally. She like my son that died in 06, had the best hearts . They were good kids, just misguided by drugs. We have to do whatever we can to stop the access and use of drugs.

I sign in the memory of Jaycie, whom I loved dearly from the first time I met her when she was 6. I also sign in the hopes that I, nor any other mother, have to go through the horrible loss that Susan and Jayden have gone through.

I agree that the ER should have to drug test EVERYONE before prescribing them narcotics but especially those with a drug history.

I completely agree!! All 50 states should make this law, if they haven't already.

I agree with Jaycie's law and I say "Way to go" to my friend Susan Overstreet for trying to make a difference. Dear Jaycie is gone way to soon.
