It is claimed that the federal and local authorities across the United States are struggling to control a rising surge of prescription drug abuse, which federal data show is now the single-biggest cause for an increase in drug overdose deaths. In fact, prescription drug-related deaths in the United States exceeded firearm-injury deaths. Additionally, Prescription and illegal drug overdose is the second leading cause of accidental death in the United States, according to the Centers for Disease Control. End Legalized Drug Dealing in America for (NESPO)-The purpose of this law is to make it mandatory that all licensed pharmacies carry a unified data base.This will enable all pharmacies to view other prescriptions filled at other pharmacies which will eliminate the multiple prescritpion filing issues. The other aspect is to enable doctors to directly e-file, thus enabling them to view the patient's entire prescription history. This will also help with medical malpractice on issues arising from RX medicines crossing eachother. An important aspect of this pursuit is to totally destroy the Doctor shopping issues and concerns. Doctors will be able to view whether a patient has been prescribed this medicine in the recent past, thus leaving the Doctor's responsible for overprescribing. Thus, disabling the doctor shopping concerns. Next is to require that all persons supply their state issued Identification when picking up their prescription.. Since, the prescription will be e-filed directly to this database, the patient would have to prove who they are;(this will stop the illegal distribution by individuals who fill multiple scripts simultaneoulsy at multiple pharmacies)because at present, the illegal pushers are getting prescriptions with fictitios names and are able to pay in cash without having to show any form of ID. They can also go to various pharmacies and fill multiple prescriptions at a time.. Next we need to address some concerns about the prescription drugs that are being brought out into the street from our homes... Requiring adults to protect their prescription drugs by the use of a lock box equal to the safety mechanism enforced for handguns. Did you know that death by misuse of prescription drug medicine is 365% more each year than by guns...2nd from auto accidents which is the number one cause of death in America. We the undersigned are respectfully requesting our state and national legislatures to change the law. We are demanding that All Pharmacies in the nation be required to carry a unified prescription database. An e-filing system to be enforced and paper prescriptions to be made null and void.. Thereby holding doctors responsible to view the history of each patient’s prescription medicine, thus eliminating the high rate of concern with doctor shopping. We are asking that every individual be required to supply their state Identification at time of pick up at any pharmacy, and their Id number to be stored into such database. The law should also hold individuals culpable to the fullest extent of the law when they provide prescription medicine to anyone other than the prescription holder. The fact that more than 65% of the prescription drugs plaguing our children are coming from the home,, requires a vigorous approach, establishing a requirement that each household have a lock box mechanism that will safely store the deadliest weapon today. This requirement should be equal to that of Guns.. and enforced fully as its failed effort will cost more young American lives. The irresponsible party whose drug causes injury or death should be held culpable. The extent of the culpability of such recklessness should be approached equally to a reckless person who allowed their gun to fall into the wrong hands...
