Jamie’s Ministry of Food is running a competition which will result in one community in Australia becoming the host for a Pop-Up Kitchen program for a whole year.
With your help this could be our community!
The Pop-Up Kitchen program will run low-cost cooking programs to help cooking skills alive.
Thanks to the Southern Queensland Institute of Tafe, we have an amazing facility ready to go for this program – now we need your help, as the community that can demonstrate the most need, and the most support for the program will win.

Toowoomba really needs this. It will be an incredible oportunity for so many people and would go a long way to helping our community deal with issues of food security along with health and nutrition.
Locating a Pop-Up Kitchen in Toowoomba would give access to the whole of the Darling Downs region! This gives huge potential. The Toowoomba Kitchen was fully booked ages in advance and lots couldn't get in.
We would love to see a Pop-Up kitchen to supoprt nutrician in children. My Blue Sky Dreaming is that this would develop a series of ongoing cooking clubs where different cultures share their cuisine and value healthy cooking with connection and fun.
a great initiative for older people living in the community who may find themselves having to cook for themselves, following the loss of their partner
I will volunteer to cook the Jamie Oliver one cup pancake to help launch the Pop-Up Kitchen. I have been perfecting it now for 5 months and my friends love it.
