This petition is to get our government to stand up and do there part to help fight the homeless crisis we are now facing in Ireland. There are currently over 6000+ homeless people living and dying on our streets. The Irish government always talk about treating everyone equally. We are currently housing refugees that fled a war. We as a nation also need to help our own people get housed. If the people coming to this country can get housed why cant our people? We now face a long cold winter and there has been many reports of people dying on our streets due to these conditions. I am asking you as an Irish nation to sign this petition to get the government to open every empty house and hotel across the country to house the homeless people and to put an end to the homeless crisis before more people die. Ask yourself if this was your family or friends would you like them to live like this?

This is a no brainer. I was in Dublin City centre Thursday evening and the numbers attending the food stand, shower bus and clothing van on O'Connel Street were shocking. This really needs to be done asap
No House Should be Left Empty for More Than Six Months. Compulsory Purchase, That Tax Money from Apple would Buy a Lot Of These Property's Enough to House Everybody.
Have we remembered nothing? The starvation? The evictions? The coffin ships? Can we stand up and demand never again!?! Never again anyone homeless or hungry in Ireland!
I am homeless and I have two kids I think k its important that mothers come first for housing and family's with kids. One of my kids is in the care of he's grandmother the last two years due to me having no place to live with him.
See more and more homeless each day I travel to work in the city. Shameful on this day and age that these poor people have to depend on soup kitchens while the government look for pay increases for themselves. Do the right thing for once
Give homes to the genuine homeless, not the ones who get kicked out because they wont pay rent or destroy properties.
i want the government to get their heads out of their holes, and cop-on to the plight of their own people before taking in refugees from other countries, i am not racist, i am just fed up with the fact that our own is being ignored, while people from other countries, are being looked after better then our own people.

Open up all empty houses NOW and give them to the homeless and to anyone else that needs one and STOP giving them to Nama - you have an Obligation to look after the people - any more deaths on the streets because of the winter cold weather will be more blood on your hands - start doing what you were elected to do or pay the price in the next elections
