Early years services from across Ireland are making a stand on the 5th of February to protest outside the Dail to ask our government to support and listen to the needs of our families, children and childcare services across the nation.

To offer quality early years services we need:

- Increased investment into quality early years services.

- Reduction of fees for parents.

- Adequate funding to pay early years practitioners the salaries they deserve.

- Abolishment of commercial rates.

- Introduction of competitive insurance companies to the sector.

- Recognition of educators in the sector.

- Prevent quality services closing down in the future.

CHILDREN OF TODAY ARE TOMORROW'S FUTURE. PLEASE SIGN THIS PETITION SO WE CAN PRODUCE SIGNATURES TO THE MINISTER OF CHILDREN AND YOUTH AFFAIRS AND ALL RELEVANT DEPARTMENTS ON THE 5TH OF FEBRUARY.

We cannot survive with payment for 38 weeks of the year. We need a 52 week salary. I want to be recognised for the hard work and dedication I have poured into this sector for over 15yrs.

I am a provider, and I am not able to keep up with the demand from Tusla, pobal, DCYA, Ncs . Also my staff work so hard, are loyal, caring, generous, professional and don't get paid enough because I don't get enough. Anne

Childcare is in a crisis, staff are exiting the sector at a rate we cannot keep up with. Why pump money into creating more places for children when there are no staff to look after these children!! Listen to us, the people on the ground, the childcare sector directly. We need the support now.

It's about time the government looked after people working in this sector. They are highly educated and extremely underpaid. They are educating young minds, it's not an easy job to do and the lack of funding and high insurance is a disgrace.

Early years childcare is in crisis and the government needs to invest more to professionalize the sector and pay enough revenue to providers for it to be sustainable and offer the highest standards in provision.

I am an early years Educator for over 20 years. Educated from my own funds to comply with the ever changing regulations. The childcare sector is overworked and undervalued. The children are the future and without early intervention with adequate supports who knows what will happen to the children.
