The Gender Wage Gap is a persistent social issue which undervalues women and the occupations they are interested in. In Canada, women, on average, are being paid $0.82 for every $1 earned by men for the same amount of work. By signing this petition you are agreeing to increase Ontario's current minimum wage of $11.25 to $12. Increasing Ontario's minimum wage will not only help the hardworking youth in Ontario pay for their expenses more easily but it will also help the large number of women who rely on minimum wage for a living. Therefore, increasing Ontario's Minimum wage is step towards closing the Gender Wage Gap in Ontario.

The government is finally feeling the heat because of this surge in support. Keep pushing until they stop ignoring the reality that workers cannot survive on these poverty wages.
