One of the major problems that all Isla Vista residents face is the consistent trash and mess that is made in our streets. As a resident of Isla Vista myself, it is rare that I ever walk down my block without seeing copious amounts of trash on the street. As it stands now, The Goleta West Sanitary District is responsible for the street cleaning efforts in Isla Vista and the broader city of Goleta. Currently, their street cleaning efforts in Isla Vista occur every other Monday. Though GWSD is not at fault for the abundance of trash left in the Isla Vista streets, their efforts are simply infrequent enough to maintain the cleanliness of Isla Vista. By signing this petition, you are requesting to President David Bearman and The Goleta West Sanitary District that they would double their street cleaning efforts, and perform their street cleanings every Monday, instead of every other Monday. This petition aims to make Isla Vista a cleaner place, and your signature will go a long way in aiding the effort to do so.
