We, the undersigned, do hereby petition the leadership of the National Christian Communications and Forensics Association (NCFCA) to induct Parliamentary Debate (Parli) as an official debate form for the NCFCA National Championship. Prior Stoa tournaments have successfully ran Parli and other speech events and ran Parli successfully at the 2013 National Invitational Tournament of Champions (NITOC 2013). Parli debate helps students achieve the fundamental goal of NCFCA: "[to address] life issues from a Biblical worldview in a manner that glorifies God."
NCFCA'ers have competed in Parli and did well enough to break to Parli outrounds at Stoa's NITOC in 2013. NCFCA should at least offer the event for those who don't want to have to compete in two leagues just to do Parli. It would make life easier for NCFCA Parliamentarians and help them qualify for NITOC and possibly also have educational fun at NCFCA Nationals.
We believe the benefits of Parliamentary debate are many, manifold, and self-evident and thus warrant NCFCA's inclusion of Parli as an official National Championship event.
