Howdy! I am working to include a dog park as part of the Hensel Park renovation.

As renovations to Hensel Park are discussed ideas of a dog park have been included. Local residents and students who have dogs need a safe place near the university for them to play and socialize. With the rapid increase in local population, this would be a well-used and attractive addition to Hensel Park.

Please support the inclusion of a dog park – perhaps called the Reveille Bark Park. Please sign here to indicate your formal support.

Thanks and Gig ‘Em-

· Hensel Park is part of the Texas A&M University system, and is designed primarily for the students of the University. In 1986, the City of College Station installed a playground and a fitness center. The park includes three pavilions, picnic units, playground, restrooms, jogging trails, volleyball court, fitness court, softball field, parking for 70 cars, and an open play area. The City of College Station provides limited development funds through the Park Land Dedication Ordinance, and an agreement with Texas A&M University. http://www.cstx.gov/index.aspx?page=535

Updates

The bureaucratic process regarding the Hensel Park renovation is slow and frustrating. I am still pushing for answers on why a space for our dogs seems so difficult to approve.

Reaching this level of support makes the long hours spent waiting for responses feel worthwhile. I am exhausted by the bureaucratic back and forth but seeing so many people agree on this park keeps me moving forward.

The more dog parks in our area, the better. They are a fabulous addition to our community. More and more people are looking to move to areas with more green space and space that is accessible to their dogs. Dog parks have become a proven and vital way to socialize and exercise our best friends. Please include good quality gate systems, and a dog wash station!

Love the idea of another dog park but think the name should be Hensel Park Dog Park.

My dogs and I love dog parks. It gives them a free place to run and the interaction with other dog lovers is fun for the humans. Hensel Park is the perfect place.

We would not be able to take our dogs off of a leash but it would be nice for others.
