Never Down For The Count Youth Services is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located in Cadillac, MI. Starting with our FREE USA Amateur Boxing program Cadillac Boxing Club in 2013 our vision to expand services to include a FREE After School program for young people in the middle-high school ages was born. The Never Down For The Count Youth Center will offer:

  • Non combative boxing based fitness
  • Healthy snacks
  • Life skill mentoring
  • Family Support
  • Community Service
  • Cadillac Boxing Club

Sitting in the center of town is a long abandoned warehouse that is owned by Wexford County after it was foreclosed on. The previous owners bought the building on a tax sale and pillaged it of anything that could be scrapped leaving it without heat, much electric and the sprinkler system. In its current state the building sits as blight in our community and serves as a location for vagrancy and illegal drug activity.

This petition is to show the Wexford County Commissioners community support for the transfer of the property to us so that we can secure it, clean it and then restore it to use as the Never Down For The Count Youth Center. If you believe that a FREE Youth Center would be a valuable addition to our community please sign our petition of support and share! Thanks for being in the corner for our young people!

Seeing the count climb toward 250 signatures gives me so much hope for the kids in our community. Please post the petition link on your feed right now because we need everyone to see why this warehouse belongs to our youth instead of sitting empty and broken.

Seeing this kind of momentum feels like a turning point for the warehouse and for the kids who need a safe place to go. I am incredibly moved by how many of you recognize that this space belongs in the hands of the community instead of sitting abandoned.

Seeing the count climb fills me with so much hope for that old warehouse. We are getting very near to our first hundred signatures and I need you to help us cross that line today to show the commissioners we are serious about reclaiming this space for our kids.

I worked in this building in the mid-60s and it is a waste to let it go unused. A free after school program for Cadillac's youth is a wonderful idea. Cadillac needs more centrally-located places for their young people to congregrate and find mentors. Please find a way to do the right thing.

My son is apart of this boxing program and also Coach Dana has personally mentored my son. If it wasn't for the coach and this program my son would be lost and not doing as well without Coach Dana and his program! we need this in are community really bad!!! Are youth need this more than ever!!!!!!

My whole life that building had sat vacent and was always an eyesore. For this organization to not only help fix up urban blight but to make it into something that will help the community, it makes me happy. One more thing that will keep our town great and help keep the youth away from doing stupid stuff.

I can say nothing but positive things about this club as I have been in this club in my sophomore year of high-school it gave me disciple and understanding of others.

My son was a part of the Boxing, and it made him focus. The hours were hard for him to get there and back so he had to stop going. It gave him something to do and stay out of trouble, we don't have that now and we are frustrated.

As a practicing attorney for 34 years, a former amateur boxer, and a witness to the real life impact of a lack of constructive outlets for young people, I hope Cadillac gets behind this worthy program. Anything less would be both closed minded and tragic
