Sub: Online Petition in Support of CP and APCC President, Mr. Ripun Bora

Respected Sir,

We, the undersigned are grassroot workers and party sympathizers from Assam.

Although all of us are disappointed at recent poll outcome, our morale is still high and extremely hopeful that we are at the end of a long, dark tunnel. Therefore, we, grassroot team are of the opinion that at this moment, status quo should be maintained at Centre and the APCC leadership. This might otherwise, destabilize/ disintegrate our party cadres and thus we will fall into the trap set by the ruling party.

We, do hereby, through this online petition express our complete support and confidence on your leadership. We always sware by your exemplary hard work, dedication and passion and requesting you to kindly continue lead us as President, AICC. Lets not forget, "Tough Time Never Lasts, Tough People Do".

Few days ago we have come across a letter in social media in which President, APCC Mr. Ripun Bora has taken moral responsibility of poll debacle in Assam and tendered his resignation before your office.

However, we need to carefully examine if Mr. Bora's resignation will solve the issue and change the party fortune in Assam. It is worth intimating that in 2014 when we had our government in Assam and at centre, yet we could win 3 seats in Lok Sabha. However, there was no demand of resignation of CM, Assam or APCC President.

This time when there is tremendous undercurrent in favour of the ruling party across India, mass polarization and support of State Government, yet we could win 3 seats with 6% increase of vote share in comparison to 2014.

The overall organizational management of current APCC President is exceptional and everyone witness to his extreme hard work and leading from the front in current LS election, by involving all the rank and file of the Congress workers. It is worth mentioning that the candidates pitched by party is Assam are carefully selected and all of them are highly competent candidates with proven track record and extensive experience in governance / administration. We are thankful to APCC President and AICC for carefully selecting the candidates.

We have Municipality Election knocking at the door and before 2021 Assembly Election, we have couple of by elections too in the State. In this crucial juncture, any change in State leadership, we believe will jeopardize the situation and it will create a chaotic situation and further demoralize our cadres which will actually benefit our opposition.

In view of these considerations and ground situation we would like to request you to kindly consider allowing Mr. Ripun Bora ji to continue as APCC President and provide your full support and cooperation to Mr. Bora to start preparing for 2021 Assembly Election.

Finally, we would like to reiterate that we have full confidence in integrity, capability and leadership of you as the President, AICC and Ripun Bora Ji as President, APCC and we do hereby re-assure our dedicated hard work with renewed vigor under your leadership and express our full support in any of your strategic organizational decision for overall benefit of party fortune.

Kindly consider this online petition as a humble prayer from the grassroot team and the honest feeling at the grassroot root level.
