The steady growth of this initiative indicates that our community recognizes the urgency of addressing local road safety. This momentum reinforces the validity of our request to the council.

There should be a national database of collision hotspots with knowledge of pedestrian, cycle, motor cycle deaths as well as car crashes. This is long overdue but sadly austerity cuts are affected authorities collating this data. The problem is often town planning and the roads yet the victim is too often blamed.

These roads are a total nightmare. I almost got hit by a bus last week just walking to the shop. The council needs to put in some proper crossings instead of just painting lines that no one pays attention to.
