When I heard this story, I was shocked by the school's response. Both my daughter and myself are Sacred Heart educated, and learned to use our voices to advocate for that in which we believe. We are both very disappointed in the school's position.
Absolutely disgraceful. I had my fair share of issues with the way freedom of speech was handled at this school. It was a huge contributing factor to why I decided to change schools for high school. So happy to see Kate is fighting back.
Stone Ridge Class of 1964 and I say SHAME on you, Greenwich ! Nothing of the Sacred Heart tradition is honored in your action. Please explain to all of us how you can claim any understanding of the teachings of Jesus. Shaun Murphy
It's fine when a girl who is pro-life sends a descriptive video of an abortion to the ENTIRE school (Mrs. Collins approved after email was sent out) but when someone has an opposing opinion and just has a sticker they try to kick her out. Way to go CSH
Planned Parenthood provides so many good services that are not abortion. As a young woman of limited means I went to them for routine care and birth control. This girl's support of PP may or may not be related to abortion, so I think you are wrong to censor her.
People just don't understand where she's coming from.
@Judy: I think anyone who holds your beliefs regarding Planned Parenthood is gullible and a horrible fact checker who has no idea when to capitalize.

It's freedom of speech! People are allowed to wear Trump shirts and Reagan/ Bush shirts yet its not okay for a simple sticker! Sacred Heart can do better. You cannot teach students to be open minded and accepting of others beliefs yet they are not doing that.
