Final supporters
This petition is set forth to bring attention to Alabam state leadership that it is imperative they expand the number of lanes available to commuters on the I-565 interchange between Huntsville and Decatur. Concerning the number of wrecks (and often deaths) associated with congested traffic it should create the demand by its own right. However, the congested traffic also causes miles of backed up traffic daily at a minimum from the hours of 7-9am and 3-6pm. Two lanes for the amount of traffic is simply insufficient and needs to be addressed. Please sign this petition and show our state the importance of this project to be moved to a number one priority. Otherwise we are going to limit the fastest growing metropolitan area in the state from expanding by constraining its main transportation aretery into the area.

Reaching this point has been a long grind and honestly I am exhausted by the state of our commute. Seeing so many people agree that this road is a danger keeps me moving forward though. We are not giving up on this until they finally listen.

Please expand 565 between Decatur and Huntsville and add other routes between the two cities. If there is a wreck, it shuts down traffic and there aren't enough exits to be able to get off 565 to take another route.
This expansion is needed if this area expects to get more industry and jobs to Niorth Alabama Decatur, Athens, Madison and Huntsville are becoming one metropolis
I run a Mobil business and the i565 traffic in the mornings and 4-6 o'clock hour is bumper to bumper traffic causeing wreaks, and a long travel time to and from surrounding areas and i65
I commute this route daily. It takes me no less than 50-65 minutes to make the 29 mile commute and this is when there is NO ACCIDENTS. Please consider expanding 565. There is a bottle neck every day between Greenbriar and County Line exits. I think there would be a decrease in road rage and blood pressure medication if this can happen.

My husband drives home from County Line Road to Hartselle every evening and I never know what time he’ll arrive. Depends on how successfully he navigates the death trap that is this stretch of road.
