Petition for Hybrid Learning: Ensure Student Safety
As students of the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik, we are deeply concerned for our safety in light of the ongoing situation in our country. The current environment makes it increasingly unsafe to attend on-campus classes, raising serious concerns about our well-being and security.
While there are no immediate dangers on campus, the escalating situation means that safety can no longer be guaranteed in the near future. Additionally, the roads leading to the university have already become unsafe, especially for those of us living far away. The uncertainty and risk involved in commuting further jeopardize our safety, as traveling under these conditions puts us at significant risk.
Despite these uncertainties, we are expected to continue in-person attendance, putting our lives at risk daily. Unfortunately, the reality is that no institution can fully assure our safety in this environment.
We, the undersigned students, urge the university administration to take swift action by implementing a hybrid learning system. This system would allow students to choose between attending in-person classes or participating remotely from the safety of their homes, minimizing the risks associated with commuting and the potential escalation of dangerous situations.
