Dakota State University Student Senate applicants Hunter Brindley and Nelofar Sultan won the campus-wide election. And yet, their landslide victory was nullified by a vote from the Student Senate.

HuNe earned these positions. We refuse to allow voices and votes to be dismissed. Hunter Brindley and Nelofar Sultan received the majority vote, and these votes have been disregarded. We ask faculty, staff, students, and friends to spread the word.

Please sign to make your voice and your vote heard. Honor our votes for Hunter Brindley and Nelofar Sultan.

I am honestly overwhelmed by how many of you have stepped up to insist that our campus votes actually mean something. I started this because I felt frustrated but you all have turned it into a movement that the administration can no longer ignore.

Seeing this momentum grow has been truly overwhelming for me. It is clear that this energy belongs entirely to those of you who refused to let these votes be ignored.

They are both great RAs and if posting this on our doors is wrong then why do other RAs get to put things on our doors about meetings and other things going on on campus? Hunter and Nelo should not be punished for something that's this petty. The other people running could have easily gotten in to any hall they wanted to and everyone knows that.

So you don't bring up the facts how the student Senate ignored the others who bribed for their votes with Raffles and gifts? Talk about an abuse of power and bias.

Hunter and Nelo did not win because of posters, they won because they make a difference. Changing the penalty because it "was not high enough" is unethical. They obeyed the guidelines of the original penalty thus the votes for them should count.

I voted for them, many others voted for them, they won fair and square. They deserve the positions they campeigned for and are perfectly qualified for. This is not going to be like other elections where the popular vote (which in this case decides the winner) is just ignored.

This is a gross miscarriage of democracy. The senate kept Hunter and Nelo away from campaigning on election day for the same reason. But even THAT sanction wasn't enough. There is no other reason for this than pettiness from the sides that couldn't handle the fact that they DIDN'T get the popular vote

The arguments that are presented are equally bad as the argument of Hunter abusing his powers. He campaigned and others had the opportunity to do so and chose not to do it to the depth that he did. Revoking his votes means that the Senate doesn't care what the students think. If they don't care what students think obviously they don't belong on the Senate.

Shout out to being racist, and disregarding the Bill of Rights. #ReinstateHUNE
