Hudson Valleys Traffic Calming Petition
We, the undersigned residents of Hudson Valleys, call on the Town Council of Hudson, Quebec, to improve the safety of our community by approving the addition of permanent speed bumps and improved caution signs to restrict excessive speeding as well as seeming disregard of stop signs on Cambridge Street. We request that this action be undertaken immediately and without delay.
We are joggers, walkers, cyclists, and have children and pets we wish to protect. We recently were witness to a tragic, senseless and entirely preventable accident on Cambridge Street involving young people from our neighbourhood. We must act now to prevent a terrible accident like this from ever happening again.

Nous, les soussignés, résidents des Vallées d'Hudson, appelons au Conseil de la ville de Hudson, au Québec, a approuver l'installation de ralentisseurs de vitesse permanents et l'amélioration de la visibilité des panneaux d'avertissement afin d’améliorer la sécurité de notre communauté. Ceci servira à restreindre la vitesse excessive et le mépris des panneaux d'arrêt sur la rue Cambridge. Nous demandons que cette action soit entreprise immédiatement et sans délai.
Nous sommes des joggeurs, marcheurs, cyclistes, et nous avons des enfants et les animaux domestiques que nous voulons protéger. Nous avons récemment été témoins d'un accident tragique, insensé et totalement évitable sur la rue Cambridge impliquant des jeunes de notre quartier. Nous devons agir maintenant et sans délai afin d' éviter qu'un terrible accident de ce type ne se reproduise jamais.

I am honestly overwhelmed by how many of you have stepped up to support this change for our streets. This momentum belongs entirely to the residents who refuse to accept the status quo near Cambridge Street. It feels like we are finally being heard.

43 Cambridge. The stop sign is on my lawn. I am in my office all day within view. I would say 80% do not make a full stop and speeding is definitely an issue.
Not much is done by the municipality to our safety, some additional street light to actually see the signs and speed bumps at night can help too!
As a recent resident of Hudson Valleys I can honestly tell you that it is a rare time that someone actually makes a full or even attempts to make a full stop on the corner of my home with a stop sign. They speed by and couldn't care less about people walking or riding their bikes. My office window overlooks the stop sign and the street and I can see how dangerous it is during this time of year. Please do something before someone else suffers the terrible accident that happened to Tina and her family. My prayers are with Tina and her family for a speedy recovery.

I"ve been running up and down Cambridge for 5 years and was appalled by this senseless accident. Let's make Cambridge safer once and for all.
Nice that Hudson Valleys is united in this project, too bad it happened after a tragedy!
Speeding is a problem on Mayfair as well and Council has been made aware of it in the past
