In hospitals within the UK, children's wards only care for ages up to 16, and after this age you are more likely to be put on a ward with adults. However, we feel that people aged 17-25 should be allowed to have their own ward as they are still young and it can be rather daunting being placed next to very sick elderly people.

We feel that by building a young person's ward, will help to overcome the intimidating feeling of a hospital and help to make them feel comfortable during their duration at the hospital. If you feel as though this would be a good idea, then please sign our petition.

Seeing this grow makes the long hours of fighting for these wards feel worth the heavy toll. It is exhausting to navigate this system but your response confirms that we are finally being seen.

I feel this is a great cause, after a daunting experience two years ago when I was in hospital for 2 weeks due to a kidney infection. I have a huge fear of hospitals as it is and the staff and ward nurses were lovely and rrally put me at ease; however I was given one of the only beds available in the cardiac arrest ward where I was surround by 6 very poorly elderly ladies who were either waiting for heart transplants or having heart operations. It wasnt the best place for me to be resting and healing as I was always on edge and concerned of the health of the others on the ward even though they were in great hands.

As a recent hospital visitor to a teenager, I think it is unacceptable to put young people on the same wards with some very ill older patients suffering from dementia and other conditions.

Thank you for your input Joshua, we hope that in the near future, we can overcome this problem and make it better for you, although we know that this could be very costly and time consuming.

I Agree having had a bad experience at the age of 17 on a ward with adults.
