Please help us to put money back into homecare to care for the seniors and sick at home. They say it will help them by saving the province 18.5 million. So they wont get the care at home so they now have to go into long term care facilities which cost the province more money in the long run. These clients create friendships with their HCA's. What about the people that have dementia where we go in and help with pills and getting dressed and make sure they have food to eat. So their family can still hold a full time job. The province have only give contracts out 10. Were there was 32 agencies in Edmonton alone. What kind of care are they going to give to 15500 clients when it took before for 32 agencies to do the work. Lets fight for what we know is right. We HCA work are butts off we deserve fair pay. We dont get money to travel from client to client. We have to pay out of the little money we get our gas, maintenance, insurance. After that we will be making less then minimal wage in Alberta. We will not stop until they put money back into homecare.
