The county has formally approved the budget to install sidewalks and safety measures along Holt Road. Seeing this commitment to our community infrastructure is deeply rewarding and confirms that steady persistence pays off. We will monitor the construction progress to ensure these safety improvements are completed as promised.

The lack of sidewalks on the 1/2 mile stretch of Holt Rd. from Lower Roswell to Eastover Ct. presents a significant safety hazard for pedestrians - particularly children attending East Cobb Middle and Wheeler High School - who walk that section of road daily.

With cars routinely traveling well in excess of the speed limit, blind corners and treacherous shoulders, the likelihood of a significant accident or injury on this stretch is very high.

We, the parents of ECMS and WHS students and citizens of the area surrounding this stretch of road, are petitioning The Cobb County Government to prioritize the installation of sidewalks, additional guard rails and a permanent "speed warning" sign along this stretch of road in order to insure the safety of our children, of the drivers and of the homes in that corridor.

Both my son's have and had walked this route because we are too close for a bus. They need sidewalks.

I have never understood why, when we have three schools on Holt Rd., that sidewalks weren't put in when the schools were built.

We live in a subdivision that fronts Holt Road. My husband is visually impaired. He can't walk alone on the street or walk to our children's school. Please rectify this issue.

I see students traveling this stretch of Holt road each week, it is especially dangerous for student walking home after practices when it is darker and they are not as visible.

This is very important. Also we need a crash barrier at the little pond at Eastover Ct because a car nearly ended up in the pond there and next time it might not be so lucky - that is a very slippery hill on the road

My family lived on Holt Road on 'the curve' for over 13 yrs. We seen people of all ages walking on the narrow shoulder with cars speeding past. This project is LONG over due and will serve the citizens and school in the area well.

Please keep our kids safe by adding side walks to Holt.
