The Ministry of Defence finally folded and agreed to preserve HMS Illustrious at the museum in Gosport. They tried to ignore us for way too long but our pressure forced their hand. We won this fight for history and now we make sure they actually follow through on their promise.

The bureaucrats in charge of our maritime heritage are ignoring us while this piece of history rots away. I am tired of their pathetic excuses about funding when they clearly just do not care about the legacy of HMS Illustrious. We force them to listen by staying loud until they have no choice but to act.

I served on Lusty with my squadron from Could rose. she should be kept as a reminder for the all and a memorial for all that served
Essential theat we keep this ship as a museum iten, when considering its magnificant past history.
My old man served on her back in the day. Be a crying shame to see her scrapped when she could sit in the harbor as a proper memorial for the lads.
KEEP LUSTY! so much history in those metal walls. Gosport is the only place for her.
Too many ships being broken up lately. We need to save at least one carrier for the next generation to look at.

We do not have a carrier preserved for prosperity the HMS illustrious be the one for all the FAA heroes.
