I was a student at Farmington Public Schools, and taking these history classes greatly impacted me and inspired me to go into International relations in college.

It was learning of these specific electives that made my son decide to switch from private school to North Farmington! And they lived up to his expectations Plus inspired his career goals.

All these history electives are needed to learn more about WW2, civil war, old west, and more. We have ran these classes and they've been classes loved by the students. So it'll be a waste to take away all those electives.

Electives are very imperative to a students learning. Not everyone learns the same way or is interested in the same elective and students need room to discover what interests them.

In my opinion WWII is the biggest class you should not take out because in US and World history we as a student whole does not get a large enough picture of it. Civil War is another class, in normal US history I didn't get a real description of the Civil War at all. The other 2 are cool classes that would be nice to take but I don't have room to take them. Do not get rid of any on these classes.

History is taught to keep past events from repeating themselves, we need to keep students educated and informed about the world around them.

World Religions was the best class, and most helpful class, I have taken throughout my high school career. Keep this class to educate future leaders!

School needs to stop limiting our experiences and start broadening our horizons. These are important lessons. at least leave us the ability to choose what we learn instead of deciding for us.

Our wide range of electives at FPS is what makes us stick out from the rest of the crowd. If we want to continue being an excellent school district, we should keep standing out rather than copying other districts to try and blend in.

It's a complete outrage. We need classes like World Religions to help us better understand the perspectives of other people. Why not cut a class in the science department? Astronomy is good and all, but it's very selective in how it can help you in the future or develop skills. World Religions helps all people in all situations for all future careers.

It's a real shame that we have to put a petition together to keep our nation's history as a subject in our schools. Shameful

These history electives are essential classes to offer! They are extremely well taught and can be the first time a student discovers an interest in hx. We must all learn about American and world hx. to understand and not repeat it!!!

I think we should offer our students the best education they can get, which includes increasing the oppurtunities for them to learn and what they can learn about.
