Do we really want a statue of a Mermaid in the centre of Henley-on-Thames? Who on earth came up with this bright idea? If we are to have a statue, then let it be of one of our most famous residents - Mr George Harrison. A local, a campaigner, and a rather good musician. Out with the Mermaid. In with George Harrison. Ridiculous idea. A mermaid has absolutely nothing to do with Henley. George Harrison actually lived here and deserves the recognition way more.
